Agreement for advertisers

Post by Carole g » 26 Sep 2007, 17:04

I would like to suggest to Mark that
In order to qualify for an advert on his site, breeders must agree that

1 No bitch bred from in the same 12 months as having a litter
2 No bitch to have a litter before 2 yrs or after 7 years, bitches to be limited to 4 litters.
3 All tests relative to breed carried out on parent dogs and KC and vet certificates available for viewing by prospective purchasers (Potential purchasers should be aware of the hereditary problems that can crop up in the breed)
4 Puppies are wormed with a veterinary preparation and schedule provided
5 Puppy comes with puppy pack of information leaflet, pedigree, registration documents where possible, photos of parent dogs and the next 48 hours of food.
6 The breeder must supply a contract with their puppy stating that they will remain responsible for the future of the pup, in that they guarantee to assist with rehoming of the dog at any time in the future, if it should become necessary.
7 All bitches and puppies must be kept in warm comfortable conditions. In the breeding of miniature labradoodles care must be taken that too large a dog is not mated to too small a bitch
8 All adverts to have the breeder's full name and landline number, address to be supplied in full to puppy viewers
.
ALWAYS visit the premises and see mum with pup. There are no excuses!

Hi Carole - of course its a YES.

Just wondering - those who voted NO - why ? Its all very well to vote against, but unless you explain the reason for doing so, its not very helpful !

I have voted yes. I have only seen some of the discussion threads on this, and admire and applaud everyone's efforts to ensure that only reputable breeders are allowed to advertise on this site. :D :D (Wish there were "Congratulations" and a "Thank you" smilies :!: :!:) I just wonder tho whether 1 and 2 will be verifiable?

What no stars then
I have not voted yet cos I just wonder how is this going to be enforced? and shoot me down dead if you like but I don't see why it has to be 2yrs old, I think it is far more reasonable to say 18months - 20 months. We will only hear ridiculous excuses, or send people under cover.
Anyone else honest enough to admit they have bred a bitch at 18months?
I have had bitches not have a first litter until they were over 3 but not without problems.

Sorry no stars, freedom. The Standard Poodle club and Anti Docking Alliance have 2 as the bottom limit. This limit is actually lower as this is the date the litter is born not the date the bitch is bred that is in the agreement..
For the question put earlier by eileenandmolly.
If the bitch is hip scored or has other health tests done, even if she is not registered , the date of birth will be on the documents. There has to be good faith.

That's great Kate, if she comes in season to the day but where do you draw the line ?? what if she comes in a few weeks too soon. Would that make you a bad person, unworthy of recognition

I totally agree, I think it should say around 2 or over 18 months, common sense is needed because some standards may well not be ready before they reach 2 but most miniature's will be ready by the time they are 18 months and all bitch's vary
