Erm, how many poos a day @ 6 months?

Post by Pippin » 16 Mar 2008, 22:01

Sorry for the subject matter but I can't help but think that Pippin produces an awful lot of poos in a day. In the last 24 hours there have been four and there is still time for a fifth, mostly they are sizeable. She eats JWB and is still on three meals a day, is this an awful lot of poop? She seems to be growing well enough and she likes the food and it agrees with her. Also she very rarely does them on walks, tends to save them up for the garden.

Puppies should be warm clean and well, walk away if they are not.

Milly is nearly 3 years old & she still goes 4 or 5 times a day! She's another one who doesn't like to poop in public & would rather save it for the garden

Hi
Alfie was 6 months old yesterday and he too will poo about 5-6 times a day.(Its a nightmare picking it up in these high winds) He is still on 3 meals. So if your dog is crapping too much then so is mine!

Barley probably has three. Sometimes four.

I think the more regular the better, if they're firm enough. I reckon it's a good sign that everything's working pretty quickly. They do say everyone's different and I guess it's the same with the woofies. On the other hand, I have never really read up on how many to expect, so I might be woofing up the wrong tree. :?

Poppy is more or less the same age (6 months) and she will poo 4 or 5 times a day. It used to be very regular but we've just gone down to 2 meals a day and she is a bit unpredictable at the moment

2 years old, on JWB breakfast & dinner, with a little something for lunch & supper, goes 3 times a day, and possibly 4 depending on whether the little something was a fresh bone!

Bailey does at least 4 a day, and she's nearly 6 months, so it sounds relatively normal.

My two are six months and both go abut 4 times a day, so thats 8 I have to clean up!! They are not fussy about where they do it, although am glad to say they are now over a bout of upset tummies (due to picking up dead animals) where I came down to a pile every morning for 2 weeks. Have one of those bio loos in garden now so less bagging! Funny though that all the offers to clean up after dog initially have now lessened!

I've been telling my OH that the poos will get less as she gets older, ooops!

Its likely food related, Ruby is on raw meat with mixer, or Nature Diet and only goes about twice a day and its usually just a wee one, Thank goodness!!
