Ideas please

Post by KatePotter » 01 Aug 2008, 20:12

As you know poor little Nel has a broken toe, the problem is, the supports are wearing out so quickly & todays got really wet. She has on another new one (4th) & is booked in for next Friday to have it changed then on Saturday we're off on Holiday via the Scottish Labradoodle day in Dundee. I have been looking on the www for some kind of surgical boot that is hardwearing & waterproof, the only one I can find is American & it wont be here in time. I thought about making one & I even went looking for childrens ski mittens today but it's the wrong season of course  . So the question is does anyone have any good ideas either where to get one or how to make one :). We've tried the sandwich bag & although it keeps it dry it doesn't last long.

Hi, just popped on the web, and mikki do dog boots at Canine Concepts, and pet planet.co.uk at £4.99 I don't know if that helps, at least they are in England. Hope you get sorted.

Hi Chris,
I've seen some in a mountaineering shop that might fit the bill (or rather, paw! ) but can't remember where it was! Might be worth trying the Great Outdoors store next to Boundary Mill or maybe the Mountain Warehouse at Royal Quays?

glad you got something that fits the bill :) and yes Bailey does cast - it tumbles across the floor in rolls of cream fluff but very different to Brackens labrador hair - he casts a lot more :(

fingers crossed for a sunny day next Saturday 8)
