Our trainer Tracy, Daisy and I went to the water meadows where the deer live yesterday, and the deer were most obliging. They watched us from a distance while we did our training, and then they started to walk towards us. Half the herd were hiding in the woods, but after a bit of calling between them and the ones watching us, they came out and joined us!

After the lesson I went home and swapped dogs, and ventured back with my camera. THe deer were still there, so Pops and I did our training, and then we just sat and watched. The deer came closer and closer, and the started to call to us - it was a fantastic thing to see and hear.

Wow! What a brave bunch! Poppy looks very chilled in the picture - does that reflect her actual feeling at the time?

Amazing, and Poppy is being so good. It must have been an incredible experience watching them come so close.

Wow! There can't be many pictures like that (thinking of the second-to-last and last picture). Well done :D

Funnily enough yes! Her body language was relaxed, not all tensed up raring to go. Daisy on the other hand wasn't at all happy and stayed behind me - I've a feeling she won't be so happy to chase them another time. Poppy didn't show any signs of being worried about them though.

Great photos Bid :) :) How wonderful that both dogs and Deer were at ease with each other.
What a photo opportunity :!: ...I'm really jealous, the Deer on my land are off the minute they spot us.
