So, your dog is a teenager...
So, your dog is a teenager...
I know there are a good few of us who are suffering the teenage period of our beloved and rather trying doodles. I follow the pawsitivedawg blog, who recently bogged on the teenage period, with some handy ideas, so I thought I'd share the post So, your dog is a teenager...

Mr Darcy is also going tru the teens!! Pushing the boundries in all directions!!
Counter serfing is now a fine art - 6 eggs landed on the floor ( I was just about to bake), anything that looks like it might want a chew - gets it!!
Our once nice lawn is pock-marked with craters
But we wouldnt be without him!
We are NOT putting up the Xmas tree this year - I fear it will be too much of a temptation - all those shinny things to pull & eat

Barney's 9 months and is still learning the art of leg cocking! The other day he did 3 wees in a row with a leg up and I was so excited!!!
He's just started marking multiple times on a walk too.
Lindsey's Alfie is apparently too lazy to cock a leg even though he's a few years old!

Marley didnt really do the whole teenager thing. He doesnt cock his leg either, once in a blue moon he will, but certainly not the norm and he is 3 and a half

Well Immi is an absolute terror at the moment, we can't let her off the lead in public unless we are with other dog walkers who we know. She eats everything in sight, whether edible or not. Her hunting instinct has set in with quite impressive extremity, if she finds a scent she's off like a rocket, and the look in her eyes when she sights prey is that hunger of a natural born hunter! She's developed a teenage attitude, she wants it her way or no way (two can play at that game though!
). Her energy levels have increased tenfold, old style doodle dashes have become times of utter wanton destruction and anarchy!
She is definitely a counter surfing pro, and can even bypass childlocks on food cupboards. Our cute little puppy is now a contemptuous lanky bundle of mischief! But she still loves her cuddles, can be a complete softy and is incredibly affectionate, and is an utter joy to be around!

Cosmic is twenty months twice a daddy and still doesn't properly cock his leg. he sort of squats mostly and at other times he squats on three legs. He is still no trouble 'famous last words egh?' however, he has started to bark at solitary male humans if we are out.

Actually I can report that the cocking of leg is now in full swing - better late than never!! It's a pain to be honest though as he now feels the need to cock it up and mark every scent going!!
