Hypo-alergenic success

Post by Andrea » 11 Dec 2006, 18:10

As a new breeder I am delighted to say that one of my puppies is going to a guy with dog hair allergy. Of course, I know that's what they were bred for but was totally over the moon that it actually worked with one of my puppies. He spent a couple of hours cuddling puppies and Tanni (their Mum) and even went away with an envelope of Tanni's hair to breathe in. No reaction whatsoever. I am so chuffed, I had to share this. Cosmo is their Dad.

I hope all works out for the pup and his/her new family !! 8)

I bet your puppies are gorgeous - every single pup of Cosmo's I have ever seen has been beautiful ? :D

Do you have a mix of colours or are all the pups cream ? 8)

puppy colours

I'm not sure what happened there but all of our puppies are black! Some have a slightly brown hue in daylight. You can see them at http://www.labradoodles.wetken.net
They are all beautiful but we were a bit surprised as Tanni is brown and Cosmo Cream but what the hell, they're gorgeous.

Andrea, they look adorable and should have good coats .... 8)

colour genetics is a fascinating subject .... Presumably Tanni doesn't carry the cream gene - and presumably Cosmo doesn't carry the choc one - but both can throw black pups. :D

We had a litter last dec - blue Mum and silver dad - half the litter were chocolate LOL. 8) So I know how surprised you must have felt - we were too !

Andrea - a late reply but as a sufferer of allergies, lover of dogs and owner of 2 labradoodles just had to say that I react to both of my dogs(one being totally non shedding) Have had to seek advice from a leading allergy specialist. However due to my love of my dogs, and sheer b****y mindedness have managed to build up a partial immunity to them, but have to be careful - restricted areas of the house for the dogs, careful hand washing etc. My advice to allergy sufferers is to check that they are not allergic to canker of dogs or the saliver as then no dog is hyperallergenic
