Carole has been showing an undocked Standard Poodle for well over a year now.

Well, all standard poodle exhibitors as well as those of other traditionally docked breeds have no choice but to start showing undocked dogs as it will very soon be law ... may as well make the change sooner rather than later - it doesn't mean they agree with it, more a case of it having been forced upon them. But nevertheless, good to know Carole has already made the change.

Hi Reennaa, I just wonder why you would want an unregistered standard poodle pup when you can buy one which is properly registered with the kennel club and can ask the advice of the Standard Poodle club as to excellence of the breeder? I know these pups are in the rehoming section (surely incorrectly!) but this is a litter that has been reared for sale and dog lovers registration club is regarded with enormous suspicion as providing pedigrees for puppy farmer outlets. I have seen generation after sorry generation of puppy farms in dlrc pedigrees and there are several cases outstanding of false pedigrees

Are you saying these puppies are not standard poodles Carole.

The parents certainly look like Standard Poodles to me.

I have no intention of showing or breeding from my puppy if i were to buy one - he would be a much loved pet - the same as my last Standard was.

I contacted the advertiser to ask some questions but as already said - they did not reply.

They clearly are standard poodles and have not been raised in a puppy farm either.

Incidentally there are puppy farmers out there who sell KC reg. puppies.

A shame you haven't been able to get in touch with them though.

Hi Reennaa, of course these are standard poodle pups but the dlrc registration is very very suspect and no health testing is mentioned , If you want a standard poodle puppy then ring or email officers of the club and ask for a recommendation http://standardpoodleclub.com/new/main. ... asp&area=1 . The people here will not send you where there is no health testing or the breeder is not held in high repute. To buy a healthy standard poodle puppy from a good breeder I would not chase up an unregistered litter from a completely unknown source., it just doesnt make sense. There are indeed puppy farmers who register their litters with the KC, the club officers know them very well and would not recommend them.

thank you for your advice Carole.

I have read some of your previous posts and your opinions come through very clearly.

I am not chasing up anybody for a pup - i merely remarked that i had received no reply from my one enquiry.

If I should ever need any advice I will PM you - Thank You for your time .
