An idea for this forum

On one of the other areas, doodlers were talking about leaving their doodles when they went away and this made me realise it would be nice to have a review of holiday places (hotels, cottages, camp sites etc) that are dog friendly and info on how many dogs they accept. I know of someone who booked a dog friendly cottage (that is how they described themselves in the advert) but when they arrived, they found that only one dog was accepted and they had two - they had to drive home again!

We are going to Stallion Valley holiday cottages in May (it's in West Wales) and it seems to have everything needed for a happy doggy holiday. We have 4 adults and 3 dogs going at the moment so I'll let you know how we get on and what it's like.

A great Idea :D ,
you'll have to start a thread "holiday recommendations for Doodles"
When you get back, and people could add to it. :D
Hope you have a great time when you go, the weather should be a lot nicer by then, fingers crossed. :D

Someone recommended Marsdens Cottage Holidays to me and the online facility lets you indicate how many dogs and only shows you the properties which can accommodate them. There are some lovely homes that are dog friendly which are in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset :D (Never thought I would see the day when I wanted to holiday in the UK! That's what my doodle has done to me!) :D

I love going on holiday in this country when the sun is shining! I have therefore decided that

the sun is going to shine,
the sun is going to shine,
the sun is going to shine........... say it enough and it's bound to come true!

I'm a great believer in positive thinking... the sun WILL shine for you!

I think that's a fantastic idea... it would be a great resource for all of us. Maybe you should pm Mark about it? :D xx

A ab place is Scotchcoulthard Farm. A self catering place with various cottages all with log fires. has indoor swimming pool and games room. You can bring as many dogs as you like plus the owners dogs come into your property and go for walks with you as well!! They have a small farm set up and you can help feed the lambs etc. Fab place in the middle of nowhere!! Hundreds of miles to walk the dogs. Fantastic place for yourself and the children. We have been a few times and will go again in the summer months.

That sounds lovely - long way for us to drive but we've been meaning to go "up north" for a while. I think next year may be sorted!

We have just been to a lovely place near Conwy, Wales, called the Lodge. Poppy was allowed in the hotel lounge and the rooms where accessed from the outside which made life so easy. She liked doodle dashing around the garden and the place was so welcoming.
We went on a living social deal.
