Doodlefest 2015. 7th - 9th Aug. Rodbaston Agricultural Col

Post by suebedo » 19 Jan 2015, 21:27

The date and venue for Doodlefest 2015 has been announced. For any newbies who have no idea what I'm talking about, Doodlefest is a weekend of doodle mayhem. It is the main fund-raising weekend for the Doodle Trust who are the specialist rescue group for any kind of poodle cross. A brief itinery goes something like this:

Brave Wild Camping on site from Friday evening (quiz night and fish and chip van on site).
There are local hotels for the wussies where dogs are allowed.
On Saturday there is the normal dog show stuff with stalls, doodle information, food, cakes, fun things to do.
Saturday evening is the disco in the marquee (with a fancy dress theme).
Sunday there is normally a dog walk arranged at Cannock Chase. Last year there was also a first aid course and a dog behaviour workshop that you could book.

Anyone interested........ there is a facebook group set up where full information will be posted over the next few months.

It's a great weekend and we are sooooo looking forward to it.

Hope to see some of you there

Glad you enjoyed it Sue, its a fantastic weekend and I hope their will be some newbies this year. last year was a tremendous success and £10,000 was raised to help all the doodles in the trusts care, I was on camp registration with Pam booking every one in and will be doing the same this year, we are always on the lookout for donations for our Friday night raffle if any of you have anything you could donate I look forward to seeing all of you and your doodles this year

Just seen this post, suebedo.... Can you advise me, please? ....Are the portaloos safe to use??
For any newbies who may be interested in attending, you can also visit for the day on Saturday only - I think we're known politely as 'Super-Wussies'....

Oh Anne. The portaloos are very safe to use UNLESS you are in there at the exact time that they arrive and come to empty them. I'm sure that my distress at the event will be mentioned at some point or another on the Friday evening
