Beautiful Derbyshire again, this time with Holly, her first holiday away with us. Staying in a fabulous dog friendly cottage in Youlgreave. Was worried that Holly would be difficult on the 5 hour drive but she was so good settled down in the back of estate without a murmur. Had stop over for drinks and welcome wee(Holly not me) and strutted her stuff around the services. Holly is of a nervous nature, so expected to have to coax her into the cottage, none of it she leapt through the front door and spent the first hour excitedly exploring. She has surprised us both by settling down to eat sleep and search for the biscuit tin! We are so looking forward to the walks here. We are not going to worry about the ongoing house move especially as the second planned exchange date went bye the bye today.

Try and enjoy your holiday - hopefully the exchange will happen soon! We are hoping to exchange by the end of the month and move mid June but who knows!!

Exchanging for us was a pain in the backside partly down to our buyer deciding off her own back to give notice on her rented property well before anyone else in the chain was ready to move but it all worked out in the end....at least you have the wonderful surrounds of Derbyshire to help you over the next few days....although i am biased on that part!

From where you are its definitely worth a visit to Chatsworth House which also has Beeley Moor above it with some good walks then there is Carsington Reservoir over by Cromford has a good 9 mile circular walk that isnt far either.
