Hello from Poppy Doodle!

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce our new dood, Poppy. She is 15 weeks old and has been with us for 3 weeks. She is crossed between black lab (mum) and standard poodle (dad). Our previous dogs were Collies, but as we have 2 small children we decided on a labradoodle, and we couldn't be more pleased. She has settled really well and is no bother - everyone keeps commenting on how placid she is! Had her first day out in the peak district today and she was a real star, shame I can't say the same for the toddlers!

I am an avid reader of the forums and have found lots of really useful advice, and gorgeous pics of all your doods! Has anyone else got an f1 dood who is crossed with a standard poodle? Poppy's legs are so long, and they are growing at speed. Any ideas how big she might grow?

We have an 8 week old F1b (black labradoodle mum and mini poodle dad) called Logan

Poppy Doodle looks lovely and so good she os good with children as that was one of our reasons for getting a Labradoodle. Ours is an F1 too-black poodle sire, golden lab mum but as yet only 8 weeks so no idea how big he will grow except that he has big feet. I hope you get some good answers. We will be interested.

Welcome Poppy, what a gorgeous dood you are! We dont know what size ours will be either, although like Sandig's post our doods feet are really big!

Sandig, your pup and ours look similar - Dylan is 9 weeks though and has just discovered the biting stage which is driving us all mad! How are you getting along?

Not really sure how to navigate my way around this site so replying to Dylan on Poppy Doodle's intro. Hope Poppy doesn't mind.



We really are alike. We can watch each other grow. I have been good most of the time but if I am hungry I can't help be really bitey! Looking for lots of ideas from other Doodles. My owner only had miniature dachshunds before. I ask you! Mark you I am good pals with Tommy who is 15. He lets me cuddle him!

Wow! I can't believe how much you look like Poppy! You certainly are a beautiful doodle. It is very interesting to see how you have grown. Poppy seems to have a lab coat with a scruffy face and feet. I thought she might stay like that but from your photo I can see how she might become more of a fur ball. How much do you weigh now?

Hi Poppy,
I weigh 28kg now, my body eventually caught up with my legs!
I see my brother and sister a lot, although we all looked much the same when we were tiny, our coats have turned out quite different. I'm the scruffiest (and naughtiest ) and their coats are shorter with a nice long wavy bit down their backs. My brother is taller than me, a labradonkey.
But as everyone says, you don't know how we'll turn out.
Keep posting lots of photos for us all to see how quickly you grow.
