Robbie to be neutered

Post by amber » 24 Feb 2008, 18:55

Hi Folks
I just want to let you all know that we have decided to neuter Robbie
I am doing it with a heavy heart as i would dearly have loved to use him as a stud dog, but i have found out one or two undesireable things in the fathers side of the parentage.
Robbie is very well, and has a lovely nature, but he will just be our lovely big handsome pet now.
Thanks
Amber

But Robbie will have a wonderful life, with his lovely harem

That REALLY must have been difficult to decide, but all credit to you Linda - I wish there were more breeders with your ethics and morals.

Oh what a shame Linda, Robbie is a gorgeous boy.

You have come to the decision for all the right reasons I'm sure, and you still have a lovely boy :)

Yes you are both right. I have my boy, and he is an angel, so so sweet with Freyas daughters :)

A good breeder makes their reputation as much from the dogs they DONT breed as the ones they do, Im sure it was a hard decision but when Ive decided not to breed a dog because of what is behind them or because they are not suitable for other important reasons, its always been a relief.
ALWAYS visit the premises and see mum with pup. There are no excuses!
DONT BUY FROM PUPPY HARMERS

Sad that a dream was lost, but at the end of the day there really is no contest

Oh linda, so sorry but i guess you have your reasons and being a responsible breeder you obviously feel your reasons are to high a risk to use Robbie as a stud and I so highly respect you for the decision you have had to make.
He is going to have a happy life with you and his pack and that is whats important, he has a forever loving home.

There are certain hereditary problems that can't be tested for, and there have been some very sick pups from his fathers side with the problem. I could'nt risk adding to that. there is no worse sight than a sick puppy, apart from a sick mother, but that's another story
Thanks :)

I admire you for your decision.
When you have a lovely dog you kind of want them to have puppies with the same temperment.
It would be heartbreaking though to have sick puppies.
All the best.

If only all breeders could be as responsible as you! You've made the best decision, enjoy your boy for the beauty that he is.
