Waldo very sick to stay in Vets On Drip

Post by margaret5000 » 01 Jun 2009, 22:22

My Baby,
Is very poorly felt he had no energy so took him to vet tonight.
They took one look at him and said he had to go on antibiotics through drip.
He has temp of 104 and can hardly lift his head
He has Worms and is thin and under feed.
I am so upset and angry.
I can only hope all the other pups are okay.
Glad Bella is well and I am sure Rosie will soon get built up thanks to Lynsay and her mum.

Poor little chap - good job you took him to the vets when you did, they'll keep a good eye on him for you and I'm sure once he's been on the antibs for 24 hrs he'll buck up. Try not to worry too much (easy for me to say I know).Might be worth getting Bella and Rosie checked over

OMG!
Oh I am sooo sorry for you and Waldo. :( :( :( I don't know what to say. Have you contacted the breeder? You must be devastated.
Linda, you were right, he should have been more lively. I just assmued he was a bit knackered being so young and the journey to his new home etc had taken it out of him.

Poor little thing. I hope he picks up soon, Margaret. The drip will make him feel much better very quickly, I am sure. Once he's stable they'll have more of an idea what's wrong. I wonder if the unwell mother has passed something onto her pups. :? :(

Sending lots of virtual hugs to you and Waldo. xxx

What a shame. I hope he picks up very soon. How is the mother now? He was very young to come home at under 7 weeks.
Very sorry for you, and Waldo :(

Margaret. i think you really need to contact the breeder so she can make the other new owners aware of the situation. Perhaps the vet can contact the others with the treatment that waldo is recieving. It could save their lives too. These pups and the mum, all need checking over. I know you must be worried sick. We are all with you

I very much agree with Linda. Even though some might seem ok now, there could be a bug which needs a particular treatment, and all the pups would need it.

I can't speak to breeder, if that is what we should call him. I can't speak to anyone right now it is all too upsetting.
Vet thinks it might be possible infection has maybe came from mum, that maybe mum has not had her Vaccinations.
He was just lying and could hardly open his eyes, it is soo bad to do this to a poor wee puppy.
Fingers crossed he gets better.
I don't think this breeder would be interested, all he cared about was his money

Margaret, you did the right thing getting Waldo to the vets, and now hopefully with their care he will soon be back on form.

Please try not to worry (I realise this is easier said than done), fingers crossed for the little lad, he really is in the best place x

You've done the right thing. If you can't face discussing it with him, as you're so upset and worried, then get a third party involved. Maybe your vet would like a word with him.

We are all hoping for the very best outcome for Waldo. You always have support here. I know we are all going to be keeping our fingers crossed tonight for you. xxx

Oooh Margaret, so sorry to read about Waldo :(
Thank goodness you got him to the vet, will be sending healing thoughts for him.
I know how dreadful you must be feeling, but if you know any of the other puppy owners try and contact them, maybe Gypsysmum knows some of the other owners and she could warn them ?
7 weeks is very young to leave mum. The bloody bloke wants shooting.
Thinking of you and little Waldo.

I am very concerned about what has happened, it is so difficult when you can't see the pup discussed on the forum. Waldo is in the right place and getting the right treatment. These poor little pups, they deserve the best start in life and of course they haven't had that.
.
It would be a good idea for the breeder's vet and yours to be put in contact.

My heart goes out to you and the other puppies and their owners
ALWAYS visit the premises and see mum with pup. There are no excuses!

OMG  poor Waldo, love and kisses and wishing Waldo a speedy recovery.
as every one says, you must try to contact the breeder tomorrow, even if you are cross and angry, or get someone to do it on your behalf if it too upsetting for you. he's in the best place for him, the antibiotics should do the trick.
