Marli's operation!!!!!

Post by Jane » 12 Sep 2009, 10:12

Hi All,

After discovering Marli has what looks like elbow dysplasia on her front right joint, we are off to the bone specialist in Swansea on Monday, 2 days away!!!!!!!!! We will have a consultation but all being well the op will take place. Think of us, not sure what will happen, but know the cost is over £2000, so must be quite an operation. Bless her, her limp is getting worse so it is for the best.
Wll keep you updated.

All the very best for Marli's op. It sounds positive that she can have this op. Hope she has a quick recovery. :D

Bet you can't wait for it to be all over. :?

Bless her, hope all goes well.
Know of a few doggies who have had ops at the specialist here in Swansea and all been really sucessful, so fingers crossed for Marli.
Hope she's back to bouncing soon :D

Hope all goes well on Monday.....We saw a specialist with our last dog and one thing we did that proved useful was to write down all our questions in advance and make a note of the replies.

Thank you for all your kind words of support. :P Not sure what the op is all about i am sure my vet said it was key hole surgery but i was in shock  at that time and really did not take much in. I have heard fab 8) reports about the specialist so hopefully all will be well with her, have enough at the mo going on really :o with my little ones new arrival, Cameron is only 13 weeks and my 2nd child has just started school but hey ho, not much we can do about it as yet. And to answer the question about the insurance covering it, :?: shall we just say i am praying they will. More than we are with and i have tried and tried to get an answer from them, :?: but they keep saying until the claim form goes in they can not give a decision over the phone. I have put in one claim for the x rays and am waiting to hear but i have spoken to them explaining that if they will not cover it then Marli will be unable to have the op at the mo, and they have told me i have to call on the day ie Monday to get authorization, which really will not help any of us, as we will be travelling in the car by the time we may get the go ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any way positive thoughts, Thanks again Jane and Marli x
