Pacing has been mentioned a few times here. Some want to connect it to hip dysplasia, but everything I've seen suggests it isn't evidence of the hip condition, but *might* be a symptom or suggestion of it if a dog's gait suddenly changes to pacing (especially as an adult) after never (or rarely) walking this way before.

Pacing is known as a trait of some dogs, including Labrador Retrievers, so we shouldn't be surprised to see it in Doodles. It's not a desired trait in a purebred Lab though, as it is specifically identified as a demerit if it's seen in a show dog... not that I care! It's important to understand the the show judges note it because it doesn't look nice, not because it's a clear failing of the breeding or health of the dog.

Anyway, I happened to catch Bodhi doing this for a few seconds, before breaking out of the mode and into a 'normal' walk/trot and thought this might be good for reference:
