Flea bites or skin problem?

Hi all, haven't been on for a while. After a bit of advice .
Jessie had a few fleas a couple of weeks ago. She is on Advocate so I fumigated the house in case they were in the carpet .

She is not infested as we have only seen 3 or 4 on her and none of the family have been bitten (fleas always bite me)
They were definitly fleas because I took a captured one to the vet to confirm.

The fleas seem to have gone but she is chewing her skin due to irritation of some kind and causing soreness. The vet says it is nothing to do with the fleas but I can't believe there is no connection?
I am putting steroid cream on her tummy and bits she has bitten raw.

Anyone had experience of this's issue in relation to flea bites?

Is the Advocate a new thing or do you use it regularly?
Any change in her diet at all? Is it just in one area she chews or all over her body?

She has Advocate every month, she had bites on her tummy and back which caused the redness.
No change in diet.

We found lumps on the back of Scooby! We thought they may be bites but we took her to the vets to make sure. The vet confirmed they were bites of some sort and eventually settled down. She did not scratch them thank goodness so they did not become raw.
