Lets all bite the Doodle...Oscar.

Post by Oscar2011 » 07 Sep 2015, 19:39

Hi,

Once again our poor boy :( has been wounded in action :( .

At the park, a husky/german shepheard cross decided to try out his teeth on Oscar's back leg, for no good reason

So thereafter, a trip to the vet for pain killing injection, anti inflamatory injection and antibiotics, no stitches though :), and a bill for £90.

Oscar is just not bothered at all by all the fuss, theres no more room for extra cuddles anyway.

So proud of our boy :D .

He's totally fine, doods are made of tuff stuff I think :D . He has two very deep puncture wounds to his back thigh. The worst part though, is trying to stop him from licking it  , so the head cone has been deployed a few times. The owner said that it was very out of character for her dog to do such a thing, and has since settled the vet bills. Some months ago Oscar had a similar scrape with a Staffy, just starting to wonder if other dogs think that Oscar looks more like a sheep than a dog  :?   .

Yes, He is neutered.

Would tend to blame Oscar's unfortunate incidents on poorly trained owners/dogs though :x .

We still feel so blessed to have Oscar, He has grown into such a confident and obedient boy, he just doesn't let things like this phase him :D . We've met up with loads of his doggy friends of all shapes and sizes since it happened, for a play, just for therapy, he just seems fine. :D

Ozzy was getting a lot of aggression from other intact males, thankfully no bites. We got him neutered in June, but according to our vet it could take up to a year for all the male hormones to leave his body,he'll be 3 on November. He doesn't seem to attract intact males as much,so hopefully the neutering has helped, just thought maybe this was the case with Oscar

Poor Oscar :-( He's such a lovely boy he doesn't deserve that kind of attention!

Poor Oscar, glad to hear that the owner did the decent thing and settled the vets bill. I wish him a speedy recovery, although it sounds like he is a tough guy.
