Poorly Stout

Poor little stout is not well. He was due to have his annual vet check up yesterday, we noticed that he had been licking himself more than usual. The vet checked and said he had an infection, so gave us a cone of shame and some antibiotics. He was sick at 5 this morning and twice since. He was getting stressy with the cone, so is currently sporting a pair of chris' old boxers. The vet did say the antibiotics can upset their tums but stout being stout has an allergy to some so they gave him one he hadn't had before. I think we will be phoning them today

Oh no, poor Stout :( Antibiotics can certainly upset tums, and of course Stouts tummy is v sensitive. I so hope the vet can come up with some answers. Anny X

Chris took him back to the vet today after he refused to eat his breakfast (not eating is an indicator that he feels properly poorly :( ). He has had a steroid injection to settle his tum and help the inflammation. They now think he might have a urine infection, so Chris has to try to catch some wee! He has different antibiotics to start tomorrow so fingers crossed he will be ok with these.

:( Poor old honey monster ....hope he improves soon
.My lot have all had some sort of virus......very upset tums for more than a couple of days. Tried all the usual things to no avail but then decided on raw Acacia honey and the problem is now (fingers crossed) sorted.
Might be an idea for Stout?....I know how he loves his honey :)

He even turned down honey this morning :( Chris said he has finally eaten his breakfast. No urine infection/crystals but he is a bit dehydrated :(

Poor Stouty-Pants. I do hope he is feeling better soon. Jazz (touchwood) appears to be back to herself today although she was off food for 4 days. Get well soon.

Thanks everyone :D . He is better today, and seems to have his appetite back. He had a spoonful of honey last night and so far the antibiotics have stayed down, so fingers crossed he will be ok with these ones. He is wearing his cone of shame when we are not keeping an eye on him. It is a huge one, and took up a lot of the bed last night, but as he is poorly Chris and I settled for a couple of inches of bed each

Pleased to hear the honey monster is feeling a little better :x
Re cone of shame, have you thought of using a comfy collar?
I bought one for Jethro after his op and he was so comfortable wearing it.
If I took it off for any reason and wanted to put it back on , he would offer his head and when he slept he used to rest his jaw on it and use it as a pillow.

I use Viovet quite a lot ...always had good service here.
