INSURANCE QUOTES
Following on from a recent post - I need to get further quotes as mine seem to be rather expensive
I wonder if we can share what we pay so we can get a good idea of what how and when
I am with Petplan and pay £35.06 per month
This is covered for life
Vet fees £4,000 per year (£100 excess)
complimentary £1000
Death, theft, stray - £650
Boarding fees, advertising, holiday cancellation, quarantine, advertising £1500
That is generalised but I think quite expensive
thanks

Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
Poppy is with John Lewis.
I pay £17.29 per month for lifetime cover (probably £16.50ish now they know her breed!)
Up to £10,000 per year (£75 excess)
Complimentary treatment £1000
Death from accident £1500
Death from illness £1000
Lost or stolen £1500
Advertising and reward £1000
And full cover if overseas up to to Policy limits and additionally £3000 for cancelling or cutting short a holiday and £2000 for quarantine.
I think it is a very comprehensive policy. It is their top one (level 4)

Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
I think it must be post code weighted, because I have a similar Petplan policy - £4000 vet fees and so on, but just a £75 excess. I pay £44 a month for both Daisy & Poppy, and Beamish is just £18 per month. Spike (cat) is £11 per month.

Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
yes it must be post code related - I just got a quote from John Lewis - the cheapest was £57.50!!!!
that is more than double Pet Plan

Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
That's shocking! Vets must be much more expensive near you I suppose but double? That is extortionate.Doodle Dee wrote:yes it must be post code related - I just got a quote from John Lewis - the cheapest was £57.50!!!!

I don't know what to suggest other than maybe ringing them to see if it is a postcode lottery or if there is another reason.

Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
I am with petplan and have the same as you and Lexie is £22.99 a month
Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
I would say defo postcode as I was petplan lifetime and im in Hertfordshire. My premium was really high also so I had to make the decision to reduce it to 12 month policy which is 16.00 rather then 30 odd.
I noticed that you are Waltham abbey which is not too far from Watford area on the M25. I am presuming it is because I am within the M25. Not sure if Waltham Abbey is!
Car insurance is awful here too and my daughter was quoted 3000 and she is 17

Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
M25 has a lot to ask for - I am not too from you - Junction 26! My aunt lives in Watford takes about 30 mins
I am going to have to seriously think this policy - it is ridiculous

Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
Out of interest has anyone claimed off either Petplan or John Lewis as I can't decide between the two?
Re: INSURANCE QUOTES
We're with Sainsburys and paying £17.85 a month. We stuck with them as our retriever George was insured with them and they were absolutely brilliant every time we claimed. The premium we were quoted for him just before he died was crazy high (£123 a month) but he had cancer and was receiving on-going treatment so that was expected.
