Yorkshire Doodlers Sun 7th May 2017 Cannon Hall

Post by Ianto! » 05 May 2017, 00:43

Hi,

The South & West Yorkshire Doodle Meet became the Yorkshire Doodlers some time ago... and now they've found a new location for their Meets.

This month, they will be meeting up at Cannon Hall, 10.30 for an 11 am start, on Sunday 7th May.

Gathering on the grass to the front of restaurant before moving off down in front of the house and onto the parkland. The venue is very well signposted with brown signs, so is easy to find from the motorway. There are two car parks - using the one at the top of the hill gives a £3.00 discount in the cafe against a £10 spend (if there are two of you for coffee and cake - or, in my case, bacon butties! - this is a good saving...)

There are good, clean facilites (toilets) and a busy restaurant with seating outside. There is also a fantastic farm shop... There's also a smaller cafe near the lower car park, with a garden centre on the other side of the road.

The doodles get to have a good 'taz' around in the grounds of the house, and if you want to, there is also a good walk across the stream and around the far side. Currently we have one naughty doodle who loves to swim in the pond (guess who?? ) and one who isn't allowed in the water as he's recovering from pneumonia, so we tend to stay away at the moment, but as it gets warmer we'll be venturing further afield...

Come along and join us - we're a very friendly bunch!

Hello

New doodle owner here! Are these meets suitable for puppies, or are we better off waiting until he is a bit older to join in?

Cheers

Hi moosesminion,

We find quite a few new families out with their 'baby doods', and everyone is happy to meet a puppy and welcome them to the fold :D

You can always carry your pup, if necessary, to ensure that he doesn't get over-tired. The doodles have loads of space to spread out and run, so they get rid of their excess energy on the field.

Once your pup has finished his vaccs and has the all clear from the vet, come along to one of the Meets - you'll be able to introduce your wee one (and yourself) to all the members when they gather before setting out - and by the time the Meet is over, you'll be sharing a coffee and a chat outside the cafe!

The Yorkshire Doodlers have a Facebook page, where you can introduce yourself to everyone and check out where and when all the Events are... They're a very sociable bunch, and have Meets in various locations, plus an annual camp and their own section at Doodlefest...
