Oh yeah !! known as a doodle dash ! LOL at video very good example.
Its amazing the burst of energy they suddenly get - its as if someone has pressed the turbo button !
If we're out we cling to a tree as at risk of being knocked over !!!!!

I wonder if other breeds do it. ?

At least Ben doesn't bark - probably because he's usually got something in his mouth!!

funnily enough my human boys also do a doodle dash just before they need a number 2!!!

We have a similar thing. The minute I sit down to watch T.V. Pebbles jumps up at me and demands attention wanting to play then she charges around in a mad doodle dash, then crashes out behind the settee usually.

Oh yes, but we have a straight through 3 room dash and back. The second 2 rooms are hardwood floors so Treacle learnt the hard way when to put the breaks on in time to turn back as she slid into the patio doors twice Treacle never, or rarely, barks but when I played your video she was over in a flash and barking in unison with Briar. So funny Luckily her doodle dash these days usually occurs when she is first out in the garden in the morning.

Just watched the video with Florrie next to me, she couldn't work out where the dog she could hear was! She sniffed my computer for ages and has had a good old look, then gave up and went back to her treat ball!

Florrie does the same! lol. She comes to life in the evenings especially after her dinner and then theres just no stopping her! Her favourite thing to do is jump all over everyone as we're watching tv in the evening, she goes from one person to the next until she's done everyone then it's onto our 13 1/2 year old poodle who doesn't take too kindly to Florrie snapping her teeth at her trying to get her to play, Sophie (poodle) then growls, bares her teeth, snaps at Florrie which for Florrie is the most exciting thing ever and totally hypes her up and then she doodle dashes all over the place!
Florrie also gets REALLY hyper when she needs a number 2!

I wonder how they all learn the moves Wes's dashes can last up to a minute several times a day,during a dash he leaps on the furniture and disregards anything in his path.His other favourite mad moment involves swinging a soft toy(we call it his minky but I think its supposed to be a raccoon)around his head and racing in circles.A new take on tail chasing.Doodle dashes are silent but swing the minky involves continuous barking. Tried ignoring him one evening and it went on for ten minutes

Oh yes we have the dashing! usually after Barclay has eaten! The other thing he does is as soon as we sit down to dinner he will get all his toys and play around our feet until we have finished and are settled on the sofa!! We do seem to only catch half the dialogue of any film, programme etc since we've had him!

Do we think that doods are slightly attention seeking!!!???? So cute!!

Also - someone asked if other breeds do it - my parents used to have a border collie and he used to do it - we used to term it his mad five minutes!! hilarious!
