Groomers - Surrey

Post by murphck » 04 Jul 2013, 17:54

Hello :
Please can anyone recommend a good groomer for my miniature Australian Labradoodle?
I have been to a groomer a couple of times, but even tho I try to explain what I want it obviously doesn't translate properly because she always ends up looking too fluffy, even tho I ask for a scissor cut in typical labradoodle teddy bear style.
I have seen on YouTube videos of Australian Labradoodles being groomed & groomers doing exactly what I want, but the unfortunately the groomers are based in the USA or Australia & that's a bit too far to go.
There must be someone in the UK & ideally in Surrey.
Grateful for any advice from other Labradoodle owners.

Where abouts in Surrey are you? Our groomer in twyford near Reading is really good. She always does a good 'teddy bear' cut on stout!
Cheers,

Although we've moved from Henley (near Stout) to Northamptonshire I still travel to Henley for Paddy's grooming. She does a great job on Paddy.

we are near Purley / Coulsdon.
Happy to travel to find the right groomer.
Also been thinking of doing it myself - could it be that difficult?.......

Now on day 2 of the groom - how they do it in 2 hours is beyond me although we are doing two dogs. Tidying up to do on Florence, legs and head to do on Fozzie. There's another thread on here somewhere where I will post pictures once finished.

Hi

We use Barkers of Bletchingly and have always found them excellent though not cheap. They specialise in Doodles and Poodles and all the staff are brilliant with the dogs. Flo loves going and always comes out looking beautiful and happy!!! We will be taken our puppy Ruby for her first doodle cut in a few weeks time.
By the way we are in Coulsdon too so please come and join us on one of our Surrey Strolls! (If you haven't been already)

Thanks Susie, that's really helpful.
We have been out with the Surrey Strollers - we will come again tho, recent dates have clashed with other stuff.
See you soon.

Oooh, sorry if I missed you on one of our strolls! Perhaps it was when Flo had her babies still. I shall be breaking up for the summer hols next week :D (I work in a school) so if you fancy a walk with you doodle one day pm me and we can always arrange a little mini stroll. :D :D How old is your doodle by the way? Do you have any photos?
