Harley has conquered the house, I have rearranged all my rugs so they are on the laminate floor to stop him from sliding.

He can make it all the way round the downstairs and out into the garden, with a little help over the step, and the steps up to the garden.

Very determined boy, the only problem he is finding it hard to do is having a wee. He cant lift his leg, either of them in fact. So he is lying down to do a wee, bless. Good job the weather is nice and he is outside and can be hosed off

What exercises have they given you?....have they said to bend and stretch his legs as frequently as you can ? ....try lifting his leg to mimmic cocking a leg...you need to get his body to remind his brain

linny, yes got lots of exercise bending and straightening his legs, holding his front leg and bending the toe part up, as this is the one that is going to take longer to recover. I'm having to roll him from side to side aswell, to strengthen his sides aswell.

He has managed to wee and poo now on his own, he is walking a lot better today, not so drunk  looking.

He can even manage the steps out of the house to the garden now  no stopping him.

Hi Sarahdol and Harley,
how is Harley?
Hope he is continuing his recovery.
All seems a bit too quiet on forum, perhaps people are on hols?
Take care kathie and holly

Hi Kathie

Harley is improving daily, still knuckling his front paw and dragging back one occasionally, but he is getting about.

I am taking him to hyrdrotherapy once a week, and we managed to get to the beach at the weekend, luckily we have a holiday home in Wales, now he can travel, we are planning to go every weekend, so we can get him in the sea.

It is very quiet here again.

Thought I would give an update on Harley

He is doing really well, still got a limp when he walks and he is still knuckling the front paw.

He is running round the field again with all his friends, every now and again he does a roly poly, as he has lost his legs, but he knows how much he can do.

If we are out on a walk and he is tired he just sits down or lies down for a few minutes, gets his energy back then goes running off again.
